Like the city that surrounds it, the Royal Mansour defies overstatement. Surrounded by high walls like those of the medina, the Royal Mansour is a refuge of supreme luxury in one of the world’s most magical cities. Outside, the ancient mercantile center of Marrakech continues as it has for centuries, its narrow souqs still home to salesmen of every stripe, the Djemma el Fna still redolent of grilling meat, still filled with snake charmers and storytellers.

At Royal Mansour, you can live like the merchants and aristocrats who once populated the hidden riads that still dot the old city. The fifty-three private riads on the grounds of the Royal Mansour range in size from 1,400 to 21,500 square feet, each individually decorated and arranged in the traditional architectural style of the riad—with the addition of certain modern amenities, of course. An open courtyard graces the entrance, with a bar and a living area on its periphery, overlooked by bedrooms upstairs. Rooftops house day beds, private pools, and views over the low roofs of Marrakech’s old city. Guests also have access to the 27,000 square-foot spa on the premises and two world-class restaurants overseen by Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno.
